Day 7- Sunday, FREE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMGOMG ITS SUNDAY!!! FREE DAY FOR THE WHOLEEEEEEEEEEEE DAY! Woke up at 9am and immediately switched my comp on, preparing to DOTA. Zhi wei was bathing and after what seemed like eternity (i think he was wanking xD) he came out and we started dotaing. It wasn't long before Dylan (our new good friend) became an audience. We originally planned to go out to a bread store selling some really delicious-looking bread but we were so absorbed by Dota that we couldn't bear to leave it. So, we simply went down to some convenience store to buy a few cup noodles to cook as breakfast. After a few rounds, it was lunch time, and since most people either were going to subway or Macs,(exception Qiyu and his bunch of friends who went out to eat, chauffeured by his uncle)me, Dylan and Zhi Wei decided to eat at a some random food store down the street. We were hesitant at first but we decided to take the risk. We also saw our chem teacher, Mr Lim, who arrived a couple of days ago after deciding to come and teach us chem. The food at that store turned out to be delicious. I ordered some Mushroom Chicken Noodle, which was quite scrumptios. Zhi Wei and Dylan ordered rice with duck/ pork meat which also came with a bowl of soup and potato. I tried the potato and it was so tasty i immediately ordered a plate of it. (it came in small cubes size around 1x1x1) After the lunch, we went for a walk down the street on the opposite side,an area we did not visit yesterday. We also bought some bubble tea along the way, which tasted heavenly. Soon later, we returned back to the dorm and continued doating for awhile before me and zhiwei went to school to get online. Dylan kinda fell asleep so we did not disturb him. For dinner, me and zhiwei went to buy a rumoured super tasty 羊肉串. It turned out to be true and if there was one adjective i would use to describe it, it would be 'Godly'. It tasted so good i went back to buy 10 more after the first 2 sticks. It was sold at a cheap price of 1 RMB per stick (YES 20 CENTS SGD FOR A GODLY STICK OF SATAY, SO MUCH BETTER THAN SG'S ONES!). It also came with smoked bread, cooked with similar spices used in the 羊肉串for every 10 sticks you buy. The stall owner, called 毛毛was very nice and even gave us a VIP card, saying that he could provide us with delivery service if we needed it. We also met an American at the store, whom we started a conversation with. We learnt that he had been here for over 6 months and he spok fluent Chinese, even though we conversed with him in English. And so, after the dinner, we went back to the classroom to do our work and here i am, blogging once again :). We shall be joining the local sec 4 classes from the school where BSC is located in. I hope it would be cool and a good experience. I'm kidna nervous as they are a year older than us and it would be quite embarrassing, especially when we don't understand some of the stuff going on there. There are also the morning runs, which i am afraid i am unable to catch up with them. SO nervouss!!! So, cyaz people, hop you enjoyed reading my posts! :)

Day 6

WOOTZ ITS SATURDAY!!! We could wake up late as we were only supposed to gather at the hostel lobby at 7.45am. We went to some stall selling paus called 包子店(really simple i know) for breakfast. I ordered 小笼包which turned out to be not the one which we usually have at Singapore. It came as a mixed variety of 10 different kinds of paus which had different fillings and thickness of the pau skin. It cost RMB 11. I also ordered one bowl of 豆浆 which u had to ask for sugar to be added(yes it soya bean milk and yes, it comes in bowls). After gathering at the lobby, we set off towards the bus stop. After boarding Bus number 22 going towards 前门, where we would be walking to the forbidden city, where the first thing we saw was Mao Ze Dong's Picture. The forbidden city was SUPA majestic. It is huge with a cool river around it. There also tons of those chinese-style-houses and if i am not wrong, over 8000 rooms. We took some pictures before going off for a tour around it, led by a hired guide. (Shes quite pretty lol~!) After finishing the tour, we went up 景山where we had the most magnificent view of the forbidden city. There were also a couple of shops at the top of the hill where i bought some souvenirs. There was also a shop seling those miniature weapons which included pole arms and stuff which the past generals/ heroes used including Guan Yu's Pole arm and stuff...Then, it was free time. The classes were mainly split into 4 different groups. The first group is going to an electronics shop, led by Xu yang(my class chairman, btw fyi, there are two classes, kaixuan and ouxiang), second group was led by Zhao Bin who were going to the bookshop(Mainly muggers followed him), then it was my group which as going back to the area around the hostel to walk walk and have lunch. The final group was made up of only Alvin and Grady who were going to some shoppping centre. So, we sat bus 609 back to the hostel. Miss Ong also tagged along as she was going back there too. I made a silly bet while watitng for the bus, which seemed to be eternity, to treat everyone(those who were following me)if there were no bus 609 in the next 5 buses. YEAHHH i lost...Thus, after putting down our stuff back at the hostel, we went to Mac for lunch before going for a walk around that area. We saw quite a couple of interesting stuff but it wasn't long before we went back to the hostel. We started playing dota and it lasted till night, with Jia Shin buying Subway for me and a couple of other people's dinner. The day ended at 1am, with over 5 matches played. What a fun and interesting day! Totally liked today, but i cant wait for tomorrow as we have the whole day free!!! WOOTZ~

Day 5

Another boring day filled with lessons.... Started the day with the two chinese lessons AGAIN!!!. Then it was art elective where we had chinese dance. It was kinda boring as she was showing us dance videos half of the time (1hr 30min in total, do the maths urself) I think half the class fell asleep. After that, it was chinese with Miss Liu before lunch. After lunch, it was physics with Mr Chia where we went through the worksheet we did the previous day.During IH, which was after physics, we started of economic studies of Singapore where we were assigned with a project to be done in a group on Goh Keng Swee's contribution to Singapore's economy. I grouped with Kwok Kam and zhi wei. The deadline is next tuesday by 8pm. Then it was dinner before a briefing by Miss Ong on How to be StreetSmart, especially cuz we are goin to Tian An Men tomorrow, supposedly a very sensitive area because of some People's Discusion going on there. After going back to our dorm, everyone started dota-ing till around 11+pm before going to bed. Another boring day, but can't stop looking forward to the fun we would be having tomorrow. It was free time after 1pm and I can't wait to go back to the dorm to slack and play comp!!!

Day 4~Boring times

Day 4

Started off the day with yet another two lessons of boring chinese 文学和社会课. Almost fell asleep but managed to hang on.... Then it was IH lesson by Miss Ong where we went hrough some stuff about cultural intelligence. There was no time to go out, thus we had to stay in school the whole day... zzz. After IH, it was physics with Mr Chia where he went through with us about scalers and vectors, which i managed to understand quite abit. We also did a worksheet about it. Then it was Chinese with Ms Liu(The one which everyone has been labelliong as chio) where we were supposed to do 论文. We were supposed to come up with a topic and then do some research by conducting a survey... sounds chim right? After that, we had wushu with some chinese teacher where i got kinda targeted by him for saying "If this guy makes us do pull ups, i will go and pull down his pants". I only found out late that he could understand som english. Thus, he made me do an example of 马步 for like 5 minutes without going up. Screw him... like seriously -.-. But it seemed to be the most interesting lesson of the day.The day's curriculum ended with a maths online lesson where most of us were playing and i won anothe match against AI normal. Man am i gtting better at dota. Then it was dinner before humanities online lesson where most of the class slacked again. The dinner was kinda not bad but still not our taste. It was always the soup that was mostly untouched cuz it was tasteless. What a boring day.

BSC- Day 3

(SCREW IT LA PHOTOS STILL CANNOT UPLOAD THOSE ABV 1MB!!!!!!)

[Update, FInally can after i coompressed em, Enjoy^^]

Woah, today morning i woke up with a dry throat. I immediately got my Pipagao(The cordeceps-molten-liquid) which my mum prepared for me and gobbled down loads of water, hoping to feel better after it. Guessed it worked as i felt so much better after a while. I started making my bed and changing into my day clothes. As we were going out to the zoo today, i decided to wear thicker-5 layers, thermal top, normal t-shirt, sweater, school jacket, and my huge windbreaker. For pants, i wore schoool pants and jeans inside. (Just if you are wondering, we were "forced" to buy 2 sets of uniform-each containing pants and jacket from the school so we look like we are students from there xD) Then, I proceeded to my classroom to get my utensils before rushing to the canteen to get our breakfast. Today, we had almost the same food as yesterday- soya bean milk(kinda bland), Egg cakes, meat pao(thick skin and hard). The only different dish was youtiao which tasted kinda soggy.

After having our breakfast, we went back to our classroom for lessons. There were two chinese lessons, the first talking about some love poems from the past which i almost kept my head down through the whole lesson as it was kinda boring. The second lesson was much mroe interesting, starting off with a music video of the Beijing Olympics Theme song. It was followed up with some introductions to some of beijing's famous sites which were classified under protected (i think) by the UNESCO. Then, after a short briefing by Mr Chia about the trip to the zoo, we rushed to the bus stop to wait for Bus 104. When it finally came, our whole class squeezed in and filled the whole bus. It was quite a short trip but i was cautious throughout, making sure the my back was always facing a fellow classmate/ friend, after hearing all the horror stories from my parents on how some experienced pickpockets use razors to slice open one's bagpack to steal our items. Upon reaching the Zoo, the teacher got us tickets and the 1st stop was at the giant panda enclosures, where we saw some cute pandas. I even took a picture of 2 pandas being naughty.... Then, we proceeded to the entrance of the aquarium, where we were told to gather at 12.40pm. At the aquarium, we saw many huge fresh water fishes and i bought a packet of fish food which i wasted on some koi at the entrance- I found out that all the fishes there were from freshwater and ate those fish food i bought..zzz wasted) After short trip to the aquarium, we went for lunch. The teachers told us that we could eat anything around the vicinity, as long as we gathered at the entrance of the zoo by 2.40pm. I went to eat beef rice (14.50)at Yoshinoya which was just beside the aquarium, followed up with a stick of roast lamp meat i bought at a roadside stall(3rmb) and a bottle of home-made yoghurt which was both equally scrumptious.

Shortly after, we went to the whole sale market where we could buy clothes. It turned out to be a huge shopping centre with TONS of stalls inside selling clothes. The teachers also warned us to wear our bagpacks in front such that we could keep an eye over our stuff. It was very crowded and the number of stalls overwhelmed me so much that the fear of being lost made me leave it less than 10mins after entering even though we had free time till 5.50pm, which is dinner time. I reached back at the hostel at 3pm and slacked for awhile in my dorm. Before that, i also bought some snacks and some chinese style kebab which was delicious! Thus, I could do whatever i wanted to till 5.50pm, which ended up with me, here, writing this blog post! xD Hope you guys are having fun at SG, cuz we are having alot more fun here!P.S. I think i spent at least 100rmb today on food and souvenirs.... xD

P.S. 2: I'm also kinda home sick now =( I miss my bed so much and my family members. 39 more days to go before I'm back to SG, but also 39 days more to go before the fun ends, and also 39 more days to go before it is back to boring school life... Soooo CYAZ PEOPLE SMELL YA LATER!

The start-Day 1/2

1st days dinner....

Same...
Zhi wei at airport with his guailan face!
On the bus to school
In the classroom at night with people playing comp
(sorry the sequence of pictures are abit messed up =X)
Phew what a trip. The flight was from 8.45am~2.55pm but we arrived early at around 2.40pm.
The first thing i felt was the blast of cold air form the small gaps connecting the plane and the airport. We were the last to leave the plane as our teacher in charge at that time (miss ong bee young ) told us to stay behind while other passengers left so she could give instructions to us. After getting to the immigration, we were shocked to find out that the queue was superrrrrrrrr long. When it finally reached me, i handed over my passport and some form which i had to fill in. To my horror, the officer told me i filled in the wrong side of the form(i filled in departure, supposed to fill under arrival). I thought cuz we were departing from SG and since we received the form there, we were supposed to fill in the departure one mah... That zhi wei la, tell me go fill there.. He also got held back as he was right behind me. The whole group was waiting for us and we were so embarrassed when we found out everyone was waiting for us. We then went to get our luggage and proceeded outside to board the bus to go to the campus. Mr chia was also waiting for us at the entrance.Man was it cold when we stepped out. My teeth was like chattering and my ears were so cold even when i was inside the airport. I also found out that the toilets there had these special pieces of toilet seat cover to put over the toilet seat when you pangsai... Pretty cool! Never seen it in singapore before. We saw many leafless trees and some piles of snow here and there. As i have never seen snow in my life before, i couldn't wait to see, feel, touch or even smell them!I could also imagine how pretty it would be if we came in autumn or somthing...There was also a TV ont he bus which was playing Mr bean and everyone was laughing like hell. When we reached the campus, we went up to our dorms and quickly unpacked some of our stuff here and there before going for dinner. The bed was also kinda hard but it was acceptable. I also kinda stole the blanket from the plane, so... I felt kinda more comfortable. After dinner, our teachers brought us to a supermart where we bought some of our daily necessities, mostly consisting of shampoo and snacks. I also went for photo taking as the teacher at Singapore kinda forgot to give my photos to Miss ong. Man did i look fat in those thick windbreakers. Then, we proceeded to our classrooms to have a briefing before going back to our dorms where we prepared for the night. I unpacked most of my stuff, went for a bath, played a game of dota on normal ( I WON OMGWTFBBQ CANT BELIEVE IT[against AI of cuz]), ate some vacuum packed Bak Kwa which my mum bought for me back at SG before turning in. Zhi Wei was quite tired and turned in early while my other two room mates ( daryl and joe) were mugging and doing homework. We were also told to apply lip balm and mosturizer all over our body to protect our skins as the air was very dry.

We woke up at 6.00am today. After washing up, we went to our classrooms to take some plates and bowls before proceeding the the canteen to get our food. It was pretty cool as we had a card to swipe and get to choose what food we want and get charged accordingly. Though i must say the food was kinda suck, but it was also quite cheap. The card could also be used at a MAMA store located right beside the canteen where we could buy some snacks and cup noodles. After that, we went back to class to slack for awhile before going for a tour around the school and an intro speech by the principal. I wasnt really paying attention as i wanted to get my lunch badly... The lunch was also kinda sucky.... Then, we went to Beijing Urban Planning Centre via public bus( RMB 1 per ride regardless)to see what the government has planned for the country for the next 10 years. It was quite interesting but there were some parts i simply didn't concentrate as i was tired. We also had to watch 2 mini movies which i kind aslept throught -_-". We also stopped at a place called Qianmen where we stopped to shop for awhile. I bought a sausage and some Candied Haw Thorn. After that, at the subway, where we were supposed to topup out "Ez-Link" cards but a problem popped out and we couldn't top up, so we just bought a ticket which cost 2 RMB. After reaching JiShuiTan station, we walked for around 15mins to our hostel which was kinda far. I didn't go up to my dorm as i already had everything with me and went back to class to use comp for awhile before going for dinner. Today's dinner was kinda nice as the thigns were kinda more "edible" to me... We then proceeded back to our classroom to do homelearning and for a mini briefing till 9pm, and here i am blogging about my past 2 days experience. To sum it all up, Beijing is fun but sure it is cold. There are also quite some pretty girls from the school we are joining(二附中) Our chinese teacher is also quite nice. Look forward to tomorrow was we would be going to the zoo... Hope it wouldn't be as smelly as Singapore's one though i am already quite prepared... There is also a whole sale market next to the zoo where we can buy our clothes. I heard we can bargain there and i hope i can get some good quality stuff.. Byes!Smell ya laterz!
